Here's a quick altered composition book that I made for a co-worker for Christmas. I love how it turned out. I inked and stamped some of the pages. I also added some scripture vellum through out the pages and made a pocket on the inside cover. I almost want to keep it! :)

This was the 1st Sketch Challenge.

I got a good bit accomplished this week while off on vacation!

I'm so excited! They are having an awesome crop in Dilly Land. It's a wonderful way to get my mojo going. I hope to get a good bit more completed tonight and tomorrow.

This was the "bad picture challenge". Haley had her eyes closed in this one.

This was the "family picture challenge". Now I've got to buy more scrapbooks because I have no albums for all these layouts to go in. Oh well.. just another excuse to buy more stuff...haha!

Shoe Box Album {a work in progress}

I've had so much fun working on this project. I call it my {shoe box album}. Although I did get the "idea" from twopeasinabucket. Kerry Barker used a 7 Gypsies library tray to make her's but it's Christmas and I need to conserve so I just used a shoe box. If I ever do another one, I will use a baby shoe box. (:

Tags using Close to my heart Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge and dyed doilies. I'm going to incorporate more journaling spots/pages next.

The pattern paper is from Stampin Up.

I played this weekend. Scrapadilly was having their November Sketch night. I {heart} sketches. It's a no-brainer. AND... that is exactly what I need! I'm a slow scrapper and it takes all the guess work out for you. Besides, I could never come up with amazing layouts on my own.. :)

Addams Family Crop

I joined the website Scrapadilly where a lot of my old cyber scrapping buddies from Creating Keepsakes used to be. I am so excited to be reconnected with some of them! They are holding a online crop called The Addams Family Crop until Oct. 31. I did manage to get 3 scrapbook pages in this week in between work, cleaning, etc. etc. Making scrapbook pages has always been a "challenge" for me because I am so slow at it. I usually have to look for ideas for the longest time before deciding what to do/make. This scrapbook page is a scraplift from Jana Eubank. I love to scraplift!!

On this layout I had to use a "bad picture". This is not the best picture of my daughter because you can't see her entire face but I love her shadow on the hay bail.

Sweet and Simple

Lastly I had to create a layout of something I love. Of course I can't just choose one, so I chose family, reading and M&M's.

Bible Verses

I saw this idea on the zutter sisters website and thought it was so cute. I made one for my desk at work. I printed out my favorite bible verses and used the cricut to cut out the shape using center point. It can be a little tricky getting it exactly even, as you can tell in some of these picture's but I don't care. I love it just the way it is.

This page is my favorite one of all. See the little mustard seed?

Homemade Washi Tape

I made my own washi tape today!! It was really easy! I just laid out some masking tape onto some wax paper the whole length of my table. I painted several colors. I let it dry about 20-30 minutes and then stamped on each one. Then I cut them out and rolled them up. Super easy!

Cathy saw this project in the paper creations magazine and asked if I could make it. It's very pretty and glittery but wow, this was kind of tough and time consuming. whew! But I'm glad I tackled it because it is very pretty! :)

Junk/Trash/Smash Journal

It's been raining here, so I've been couped up in my scrapbook room playing for hours on end. I had made plans to make cards but after watching some videos on youtube, I decided to make some junk journals. The idea behind it, is to use all of your scraps! {Which I love} Brilliant idea, because we all have tons of scraps! Whenever I create, I always go for my scrap pile first because I have to be very economical nowadays. I ended up making 3 journals! :) I will share the others later.

I used a transparencies for the front and back covers.

I cut a vellum envelope and used some of my smash products that I bought at Archivers the other day. I bought the pen, tabs, large and small pockets. I wanted a smash album but they were all sold out.

The other day I used the last bit of Zatarain's seasoning mix {we buy it in bulk at SAMS CLUB} so I washed out the container and put my ribbon scraps in it. I love it!

We played in the shack today! This is one of the projects that I worked on and actually finished. I was really motivated for a while and then it dissipated. :) I used an old Lisa Bernson kit that I won from Creating Keepsakes years ago. I really miss being on that message board. I used to live on it. But once I went back to work, I no longer had the time to keep up. :)

The canvas that my daughter done for her room. I am so proud of her. She's very crafty and is now starting on her very own smash album. I'll post some picture's when she's done.

I took all the free idea pamphlet's that I always collect from Hobby Lobby and made a little book out of them. I'm tellin' ya, I am having a crazy, fun time with this bind it all. Can't ya tell? :))

For the pages that are trifold, I took the the third page and folded it out a little bit so I could punch the holes. Easy peasy.

I found the neatest blog last night! I was searching online for scrapbook layout sketches that are printable and found the coolest website PENCIL LINES YAH!!! I am so excited! She has all of the sketches as PDF files and so I printed them all off this morning! I changed the setting where I could print two pages on one to save paper and ink. I printed off 21 pages.

Scrapbooketc also has printable sketches. They have them organized by sizes, one picture, or many pictures, one page, two page. etc. It's really handy. I haven't printed these off yet but I will get to it today!

Well, since Cathy gave me the bind it all as my birthday gift this year, I've been going CRAZY with it! I've made soooo many things with it! This project is album that I made of my mother. She passed away on Mother's Day 2006. I wanted to create an album that I could treasure as well as my children when I'm gone. It is very special to me since I don't have many pictures of my mother. I included facts, like my parents wedding day, birthdays, date of deaths, etc. On the last page I am going to type up a little page of stories and etc. That is the only thing left to do.

I used the Affinity paper pack from hobby lobby. Along with the matching Affinity brads, ribbons, etc.

For Internet safety reasons, I can't post every page because some have personal info on them.

In this envelope I have letters and cards from mama. I cherish her hand writing now.

I've started a new project! My smash album. I wanted to do this last summer and never got around to it. So I finally got it going today. I went out and took pictures and started collecting things to go in it! I'm super excited about this project! I am still loving my BIA!!! I'm also working on another mini album. Hopefully I will get pictures up soon.

My first project with the bing-it-all! I am really excited about this project. This is going to be my mother-in-law's Mother's Day gift. I really love this album. I wanted to really embellish it but I couldn't because of the thickness of the album. I didn't want it so bulky that it would close. :)

The envelope is for letters from her 9 children. I am having each child write her a keepsake letter/poem or whatever they wish to say.

Every year at school we have to decorate our doors for Red Ribbon Week. Since we're in special ed, we really can't decorate our door because it would get pulled off. So we decorated the wall instead. We actually won 1st place this year! Very exciting. I got the idea off line so it wasn't my original idea. EVERYONE loved the little monkey's. :))

I had my first maternity photo shoot today. These are just a few of the 170 picture's that I took. I am so pleased how the picture's turned out. They look grainy on here but I think when you upload to the web it does something to the pixels. They are such a beautiful, sweet couple. We had the best time. I wished I would have taken picture's like these when I was pregnant with my girls.

I really haven't played any this week. I've been extremely busy and tired! I did manage to cut a little vinyl for some cute bins that I found at the dollar general store for 2 or 3 bucks. {can't remember exactly how much they were}

BIA stands for bind it all and then the green bin is for my punches. I used an old green canister jar from my kitchen and wrapped it with paper to store my hemp in.

I've had these bins for ages so I thought they needed a little sprucing up too. :)

More vinyl. I need more colors! ;)

Shelves my daddy built me! They are bigger than they appear in this picture and I painted them white. I plan to put my projects up there as I finish them because I love having them out for a while so I can admire them. :)

I ordered more material off hobby lobby. com for my table so I had a little piece left over so I decided to make a cute little dust cover for my sewing machine. It just does fit. :) I got the idea from Martha Stewart.com

I'm loving my new 5 ft table. My old desk just wasn't big enough anymore. I love having all the material matching everything! This room is my little heaven on earth/ retreat room now.

My desk right now! I've been creating. I need a new, bigger desk. Any suggestions? My room is small so keep that in mind! I was thinking a table with "matching material". Actually the more I think about that idea, the more I ~~like~~ love it!

THE CLOSET DOOR

I played today in between laundry and cleaning. :) I'm finally getting my scraproom together and it feels so nice to HAVE a place! The girls are loving it too! I used my cricut and my cart {straight from the nest} to make some door decor. I LOVE IT!!!

I finally got the twin bed sold and moved out last night and my cabinet moved in. It's already full. Now I've got to find a way to organize that! The girls moved in their desk too. They love to do be in there with me and do crafts as well.

I'm in love with those bakers rack!!

I had enough material left over to make a cover for the back of my shelf. My sewing machine kept giving me a hard time so it's not as perfect as I would like for it to be but no one is going to see or notice it but me.. :)

And finally my new chalkboard vinyl from Stampin Up! i love it!!!! I made a fabric flower out of the left over fabric. I think it turned out pretty good considering it was my first one! :)

Sew much fun

I am so excited today because I sewed my very first projects! Now I have sewn straight stitches on scrapbook pages before but never nothing like this! It took me forever to pick out this cute fabric from Hobby Lobby! :)

I originally wanted just a curtain and then I decided I wanted a cricut cover that would match too. But then I had a yard of fabric left over and Cathy gave me the idea of a chair cover! Brilliant! Love her! I love it and I am so proud of my self! :)

Now, my girls want all kinds of different things made for their room. All in zebra print material of course. I think I will make new curtains for my dining room next. I really wished HL was closer...

My friend gave me these two baker's rakes and I love them! I think eventually I will paint them white. I just bought that paper rack from HL as well and I love it! It's a lot more sturdy than I thought it would be. It will actually roll around which is nice because I'm always moving and rearranging. I really debated buying it considering the reviews it got. But overall with a hl coupon it's a great deal!

I found this little cutie today at the dollar store. I love finding treasure's in there when I run for a few items. It's actually a flower pot. Who could resist a flower pot with ribbon??? Not me!! It came with a cheesy pink ribbon so I changed it to a glittery one to match the lady bugs. cuteness.

Party Time

We had Clint's mom a 75th surprise birthday party last week. I was in charge of decorating. The colors were pink and yellow which turned out really cute together. I made these really cute tissue puff balls. I have been seeing them every where and learned how to make them from you tube above. It's a really easy and cheap party decoration that you can make. Try it next time. Super easy!!

This was one of my favorite decorations. The celebrate/photo banner. I printed out old 5x7 photos of her and hung in between each letter. Hopefully I will be able to make a mini album of them soon.

CTMH Baby Banner

I finally finished Anna Lynn's banner today. It turned out really cute but the letters don't "pop" as much as I'd like for them too. I used stickles on everything so it's really glittzy. :) The banner is a chipboard banner from Close to my heart. I used a pack of 8 and then used one more out of another pack. I am going to make me a "family" one for our living room. I've got to buy some papers that will match though. Have a wonderful weekend!

Clothespins

Today I cut out flowers with my Cherry Limeade cricut cart to decorate some clothespins. I love how they turned out! I took apart my calendar because I used the Elmer's Glue brand tape from walmart and it was falling apart. I used to use the adtech brand and loved it but then wm switched brands and I tried it out. I will never buy that brand again! I've got to find another brand to use... I hung up all of the scrapbook pages in my living room up over my couch. I love having my sb pages on display. :) Have a blessed day!

2011 Calendar

I found this blank calendar a couple of years ago at Target in the dollar spot. So I bought two. I could kick myself for not buying more! :) I made Clint's mom one, a couple of years ago for Christmas and I just got around to making mine. That's usually how it goes. I makes gifts for other people and put myself on the back burner but that's okay. It makes me happy. I have a lot of ideas and projects running through my head right now. I have a lot of mojo flowing which is great because sometimes I get in moods where I don't want to touch paper, glue or scissors for a while. Next on my list is banner from CTMH. Check out Cathy's site here. I order all of my cardstock from her because it cuts GREAT in my cricut!

Holiday Tree

Well I decided to start blogging again. :) I can't believe it's only been a year since I stopped. It feels like a longer than that. But it feels good blogging again! I had a sinus infection over the weekend and didn't feel like doing much so I played on and off in my little scraproom. My friend gave me two bakers racks, which I adore!

So I organized my things and got them off the floor. It looks nice. I finished a couple of projects that I had started earlier in the week. I tied the little hearts to my seasonal tree. I cut out the letters for my sweetheart banner and made a wall hanging for the living room.

We also had a little ice storm today. Clint took me for a drive after I got home from work to snap a few picture's. I ended up getting the best photo's in my own yard which was nice.

Christmas Time!

It's beginning to feel like Christmas! I LOVE this time of year! I've got the tree up. The decorations are out. Most of the shopping is done! I am feeling so BLESSED right now!

I made an advent calendar for the first time this year. I got this idea from the girls at Christmas with the Cricut blog! They have so many wonderful ideas! I love that blog!!! I lost the number 17 somewhere. I need to make another one.

I've never made the girls an advent calendar before. They are going to flip when they realize what it is! I can't wait to share it with them! I went to the Christian bookstore and bought little things to go it. Like little Christian books, braclets, rings, cards. I bought some goodies from the school's bookfair like pencils/erasers and candies, chocolates and candy canes from WM. I hope I have at least one more year/use out of that calendar. It was a lot more work than what it looks like! :)

Tomorrow we're going to bake cookies. Can't wait!

In the MOOD!

Here's the little apron Christmas cookie exchange card that I made for our annual cookie exchange at Cathy's. Last year was our first year doing it and it was so much fun. So now we're going to do it every year! If you've never been to one you should go. They are a lot of fun! I actually got this idea from the oriental trading magazine. You can find it in the Special Holiday Edition 09 on page 17.

Here's a little boo sign I made for the door. I think these are cut on 6 inches. It's bigger than it looks in the photo.

I've been in the mood for a lot of crafting lately! Since I went back to work I haven't had any time or (energy for that matter) to craft! But this past week or two I've been wanting to create and play every day after work and on the weekends. Who needs to clean, cook, cut the grass, do laundry or any of that kind of stuff? :) hehee

All that has flew out the window as Cathy and I anticipate the upcoming holidays. ( I mean about the cooking, cleaning and laundry). Cathy went to scrapbooking retreat this weekend. I can't wait to see her pictures. She even bought us a pair of scrapbooking jammies! Can't wait to see them and her wedding album that she started on. Next time I will go with her. NOOO ifs, ands or buts!!! We have one coming up in January. Also a Halloween Crop at the shack in October. Excited about that one!

I have so many things going through my head right now that I want/need to make.

I am finally going to get to go back to Hobby Lobby and Michael's this weekend! I usually get to go about every month or two! I'm super excited! I haven't had time to do anything since starting back to work a couple of weeks ago! I really want to make some Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas cards. I also wanted to start on the girls baby albums.

I made some really cute treat bags for my girlfriend Pam to give to her associates at work. I should have gotten pictures because they were extremely cute! I added some chocolates and little cute things to go in the treat bags. But we were rushed for time so I didn't get the shots! So what has everyone else been up too? I feel so out of the loops right now! Hopefully I'll get back to scrapping/crafting soon! Take Care!

Back to School treat bags

I made 20 Back To School Treat Bags for the kids at church this weekend. I actually forgot to take a picture before I gave them all away but I did have 1 left over. I did a blue theme for the boys, a pink theme for the girls and the yellow themed were the extra ones. I actually found several cute ideas from twopeasinbucket but didn't have a whole lot of money to invest in them so I keep them very simple.

I put in pencils, erasers, pencil sharpeners, rubber grips, highlighters, and lots of candy. I also typed a little card and attached it to the bags. It reads

Student Survival Kit

Eraser- to remind you that each day you can start with a clean slate. Everybody makes mistakes but Jesus always forgives. Others should too.

Sucker- to remind you not to be a "sucker." Be your own person. Remember WWJD!

Pencil- to "write" your wrongs.

Pencil Sharpener- to remind you to stay "sharpened" Always keep your heart and mind on Jesus.

Bubble Gum- will encourage you to be persistent. "Stick with it" and you can! All things are possible with God!

Tuesday we got together at the shack for a "before we (meaning, me) go back to school crop." LOL Cathy wanted us to get together before I had to go back to work. It was a lot of fun! I used Sandy's New Arrival's cartridge to cut out a few things. I love that cart! I found a bunch of the girls baby picture's the other day while cleaning out my closet so I thought I'd make them an album each. Maybe I'll have it finished for Christmas. I didn't start scrapping until 2006 but luckily I did take lots of pictures!!!

Well this week has been extremely busy for me. Yesterday and the day before we went school shopping. YES! School is already back in secession. :( And today is Lacey's birthday. So yesterday after shopping all day I dropped off the girls with Clint and went back to get birthday presents for Lacey. I'm sad summer has ended so soon for us but I am really looking forward to cooler weather and the holidays!

I'm still excited about the new gypsy that is coming out! I saw this video on craft critique and thought I'd share with you. Maybe by some miracle my hubby will read my blog and surprise me with this for Christmas. NOT!!! :)

WOW! I'm really excited tonight! Provo craft has just released new details about the new gypsy! You can watch the video here. I never thought I'd need the design studio or even thought that I would want it. I am just not one who likes to bog my computer down with pictures, files and extra software or anything else that would take up memory and make my computer slower. This tool really would be great for me! And who wants to lug a computer around when you can do it right there sitting in your sb room or away at a crop! It also comes with many different accessories! See those here. The new cartridges can be preordered on the oh my crafts website. Boy, do I wish I could have went to Orlando to the CHA this week because they were giving these babies away free!!! YES FREE! Well, looks like I'll be saving up for this baby! So what do you think about it? I'd love to hear your comments!

ATC's and Baby Card

I entered my first ever ATC (artist trading cards) swap at outta this funk and I finished those up today. Blog Here, Site Here. I really wanted to use my cricut and cut something to go on the cards but of course the cards are too small for that. 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 So I decided to use some new Michael's $1.oo stamps and a new blender pen from HL that I haven't used yet. A good excuse to play with new stuff right? I'm not 100% happy with the sponging. I didn't have any sponges so I just used the ink pad which didn't work too well. But that's okay. I may end up redoing these just for fun.

This is a pink and brown card that I made Beth for the baby shower. Now that I think of it, I don't remember seeing her open it. I bet it got thrown away accidentally. Her little girl was opening the gifts and throwing away all the paper and I bet it got put in the trash by mistake. I'll have to ask her about that. I really need to invest in more embossing folders. I think I may just do that next pay period. I love the textured look the folders give.

Baby Shower Gifts

I went to a baby shower tonight for a friend of mine, so you know I had to make a little something for her. I love altering stuff! So I altered a wet wipe case, 2 baby bottles, a box of wet wipes and a diaper bag. All pink and brown. I cut some pink vinyl out for the diaper bag. I believe the letter M is 4 1/2 inches and I used the storybook cartridge. One of my favorites carts. The diaper bag is actually vinyl too so it sticks really great to it! I wished I had moved it up alittle bit but that's okay too. I love the new hot baby colors, pink and brown for a girl and also blue or green and brown for the boys. I had a lot of fun playing with pink and brown papers today! I'd love to keep the diaper bag for myself because it's so cute and it looks and feels like a large purse or small tote.

Tomorrow I'm going to work at the shack. I joined my first ATC (artist trading cards) swap last night. So I'm excited about doing those.

Welcome Home

This is vinyl that I put on the back door at Daddy's. A little "welcome home" surprise for when they get home from the hospital.

Today I went over to the shack to make a "welcome home" banner for Daddy. He is still in the hospital. I hope he gets to come home by the weekend. Bless his heart, he is so tired of surgeries, being sick and hospitals! They think he has a intestinal blockage. They really haven't given us a clear answer yet. It's no fun having your stomach pumped. He hasn't eaten anything in almost 2 weeks. Please say a prayer for him. He really needs them right now.

Anyways, I hope to surprise them with the banner and window cling. I used Cathy's Stand and Salute cartridge for the "my hero" and "welcome home soldier." My dad was in the military back in the day. I wanted to use a patriotic theme because he really is a troop.

Vinyl Mania

Haley's name over her bedroom window. My walls are textured but it works like a charm. Very pretty. I believe I cut her letters at 6 3/4 inches. I had to use the 12x24 mat side to make it fit.

I've been having so much fun cutting out vinyl with my cricut lately. Surprisingly it's really easy. Well once I figured out what I was doing. :)

I cut the vinyl using the following settings:

Speed-low

Pressure-4

Blade-3

I noticed it was easier if it cut through both the sheet of vinyl and the backing. After cutting the vinyl I peeled off the negative part and that left the cut design of vinyl and the backing of the cut design on the mat. I then peeled off the white paper(the none sticky shiny side) from the transfer tape(the sticky side). I put the sticky side of the transfer tape directly down on top of the cut image(vinyl) and used a popsicle stick to scrap over the top to make sure the vinyl would stick to the transfer tape. I slowly peeled up the transfer tape and the cut vinyl image came up with it. Tip- if the vinyl image does not come up gently help it along by easily taking your nail and lift it up. After you have the image transferred to the transfer tape you can align it on the wall and do the same scrapping motion again. Peel the transfer tape off and the image stays on the wall. Super cool! You can find video's on how to do this on YouTube. This is how I learned. Money saving tip- You can use the transfer tape twice.

I finally finished the last of the twilight books. Great series for sure! I really enjoyed reading each book and I'm really sad that I've finished the last one. I really can't wait until the movie new moon comes out this November! I have really enjoyed my summer. I'm so sad because it's coming to an end really quick! We'll all be back in school before you know it. I'll be holding back the tears! I love summer! I will miss our pool time, late night movies, sleeping in, visiting my family, reading,relaxing, grilling, crafting all day, soaking up the sun, vacations. It's almost to much to bare. Can you tell I'm not ready?!

Saturday Ramblings

Thursday night we went to the movies. Clint and I saw my sister's keeper (per my request) and the girls saw ice age. It was a GREAT movie but it was extremely sad. I cried like a baby from about half way in through to the end. It was a movie that could really happen and the sad thought is that things like these happen everyday! We take life for granted everyday. And I couldn't help but to think of my girls when watching this. My mother always told me that I didn't know what love was until I had my own children and boy was she right! I can become a very over protecting cougar when it comes to my girls! LOL But isn't that the way it is supposed to be? :) I am extremely blessed with a beautiful family and my heart is all warm and fuzzy. Great movie. Go see it.

One Day Late

Yesterday was our anniversary. lol We both forgot. I remembered right before midnight last night. We've been really busy this summer, my dad is in the hospital and it was not something that I had in my forethought. We both thought it was kind of funny.

I'm so lucky to be in love with my best friend! I wouldn't have it any other way!

I love the new embossing cuddlebug folders that have recently came out. You can see more here.

Sometimes it can be overwhelming because of all the new scrapbooking products that constantly come out. If you're not careful you'll be caught up in just shopping and shopping again for scrapping goodies and yet never using them. I always use new products when I get them. That's the fun of it. I do wished I had more embossing folders though. I only have about 4 or 5. I find that I'm constantly borrowing Cathy's swiss dots. :) I guess I do NEED more.

Tuesday I did get to cut and play with some vinyl. Boy was that fun!! I finally got the hang of it. Next time I go to the shack I'm going to take a few pix to share. Have a great night.

Beach Layouts

I miss them!

Yesterday Cathy and I played in the shack. I finished up my beach/vacation album. Kind of bitter-sweet though because I love "working" on albums. I love to go shopping for things to go in an album, thinking outside the box for ideas and seeing what others have done with similar products.

Cathy made the cutest page of Clint and I yesterday. She used swirly borders and frames with her home decor cartridge I believe. Super cute! Super fun! She also altered a couple of "friends" chipboard albums to give as gifts. I'll have to remember to get a picture before she mails those off. Super duper cute! I'm really going to be extremely sad when I have to go back to work! I'm going to miss all of our 'play dates' out in the shack/shop.

My sweet Aunt Ben made Cathy and I the cutest dust covers for our expressions. It was a huge surprise to me because I didn't know anything about it! That was so sweet of her to do that for me! I really LOVE mine. It's actually made from a vinyl table cloth. How cool is that?!? We have the most talented people in our family!

Today Cathy and I played over at the shack. I finished my beach album! Yeah! My 8 yr old niece spent the night at pa's, so I also played with her too. I made her a little heart shape box out of the bags, tags, boxes and more. Super fun cricut cartridge. A must have. Then after she left I made the girls a picture frame for their room. I'll try and post a pic tomorrow. Super, fun, productive day! :)

I couldn't have done it without my handy dandy cricut expression and the paper doll dress up cricut cartridge though. I do LOVE that machine! This album was a true challenge for me because I'm all about girly stuff. It was so hard not to put pretties on it. I feel for mom's of all boy's. Esp. if they are scrappers. lol I did use camo ribbon! I couldn't help it. ;-}

We took Daddy out to eat last night at one of our favorite local seafood restaurants. We had a really nice time together. We really need to do that more often. Special occasions or not. Lacey actually took this picture. She loves taking pictures as much as I do! Maybe one day she'll be a professional. :-} After supper (that's what we call dinner here in the deep south,) (dinner is lunch for us, but we call it both lunch or dinner) we all went to my brother's house to see his new deck (that one of my other brother's built). -See picture above.

I am the only girl out of 4 boys. {lucky me} It is gorgeous. My SIL said that everyone has stopped by her house and asked if they could see it. Now my brother is building decks for everyone in town. We call him the "deck man" now. ;-} My whole family are great carpenters. My Daddy taught them well. Now almost everyone in the family has a new deck. lol

My Daddy is an amazing man! Everyone really respects the person he is. He has been through so much, with the loss of our mom, his major surgeries and cancer. He NEVER stops! He's truly a walking miracle. Say a little prayer for him on July 7th because he'll be having another surgery soon.

I thought I'd post a picture of the HUGE mess I made tonight on the dining room table. I'm working on a surprise for Clint. A Father's Day album of his {treasured} knap in pictures. It's all about indian artifacts and things. I borrowed my cousins paper doll dress up cricut cartridge to cut out little arrowheads, arrows, and other things. I also used my {new} life is a beach cartridge for the font. I love that cart! I really hope he likes his gift because I've got hours tied into this album so far. It's truly PRICELESS... lol

It's like going to a crop because all of my things live at the craft shack now. So in order to be able to work on the album at night I've had to cart my things around in the car. But it's okay because it's fun and it's what I love to do! I also altered a box of Starbucks coffee drinks and a box of SB's chocolate covered coffee beans to go along with this album. This is going to be the best Father's Day he's ever had. :-)

VBS and Blog Hop

Today we had VBS at church. We changed it up a little this year. Instead of Mon-Fri night we went all day today. We had a giant water slide, pool, jumpin castle, snow cones, water balloons, water guns, bubbles and lots of games and crafts. It was so much fun. The kids even got to play in the rain. They LOVED it! I love having it Saturday. This way it doesn't tie up your week.

Cards for Heroe's

Here are a couple of goodies that came in the mail for me today. I was one of the blogger's chosen from the blog hop at cardsforheroes to win a some goodies. You can see more of these stamps here They are so cute and she gives you a sample card which is always nice too.

I ordered the Life is a beach cartridge from ebay today, so hopefully that will come in the mail soon so I can get started on my beach album. Ebay has the cheapest prices on carts that I've seen anywhere. Oh my crafts has really great prices too!! I will probably go play at the shack tomorrow. I'm itching to do something. Make something. Anything. I just hate all this rain and humidity. It makes all the paper feel wet and warped. I can't pick up my pictures until Saturday. Patience.

The Track, Fudpuckers and The Gulfarium

Day 3

We decided to see the sights around town since we were more Sun~Kissed than we wanted to be. After The Track, Fudpuckers, The Gulfarium and Scoops ice cream we headed back to the beach to top off the day.

This is a van coming out the side wall of Fudpuckers. They have awesome fries! They also have a live alligators and show for the kids. This was a very cool restaurant for kids and adults a like. It even has it own gift shop. Our kind of place!

Since the girls were almost sun burned I decided we would do a few things around town instead of spending the hottest part of the day on the beach. So we went to The Track for a little recreation time. Haley LOVED the bumper cars! She said they were much better than the ones at Wild Adventures.

Lacey and Haley had the bumper cars to themselves the first time around. We got to the park right after it opened.

This was the girls first experience on go carts. Haley was driving like a grandma. She was going extremely slow. The guy had to go out on the little hill and literally PUSH her up. LOL It was so funny. Even the workers were laughing. She finally got the hang of it the next time.

Lacey LOVED the go-carts the best. She was wide open the WHOLE time. {Guess she has a lead foot like her mama} at least that's what Daddy says. :)

The bumper boats were really fun. Not only could you bump into other boats but you can also squirt them! SO COOL!

After the track we went to Fudpuckers and had lunch. Then we went to the Gulfarium. This was very much worth the money. Only $10 more than lunch. haha It was right on the beach. You can actually see the beach from it.

We had to wait about 25 minutes for the dolphin show to begin. So Lacey took the camera and snapped this shot of the dolphins playing the tank. It was huge tank with windows all around so you could see them. I thought she did a great job.

After going to The Track, having lunch, and visiting the Gulfarium we stopped at Scoops for ICE CREAM! YUMMY!

This guy was in training. I thought he did an excellent job! It's AMAZING how HIGH these animals can jump! You can see the pier we walked on in the back ground to the left of this picture.

He put a live fish in his mouth. YUCK! Yummy for the fish though. ;)

a day on the beach

One late afternoon we took a walk out on the pier. It was so beautiful and breezy. We even got to see a wedding take place right there. It was very sweet and romantic. We actually saw two while we were there.

The girls took turns looking out over the ocean. There was a lot of fishing going on.

I LOVE this look on Lacey's face! This was right before she stumped her toe really badly on the wood/concrete walk way. We had to leave pretty soon after that because she was so miserable. I managed to walk 3/4 ways down the pier though.

I took a couple of shots of the girls on the beach. It proved more difficult that I imagined. The wind was either in their face or they were squinting from the sun. lol But so enjoyable non the less. :) I would have taken more pictures on the beach but I was so worried that my camera would get sand in it.

As I sat on the beach each day, I couldn't help but think how I was surrounded by all of God's natural beauty. I would close my eyes and listen to things around me. It was literally music to my ears. The waves crashing on the shores, children laughing, people talking, birds singing, the wind blowing and even the sand between my toes was calming. In those moments I felt totally blessed to be there!

Sun~Kissed

We had a wonderful time at the beach! It was by far the best vacation I've ever had! We had so much fun!! I took so MANY pictures. Now I have to sort through them and get them printed. Can't wait to scrapbook them.

If you've never been to the gulf coast you've got to go!!! It's so beautiful! I almost wanted to cry because I didn't want to leave! 4 days was not long enough. Haley was ready to come home though. She is such a {home body} "like her daddy." The water was so beautiful, clear and clean. The girls had a total blast in the ocean. We bought boogie boards and they rode the waves each day until we had to leave.

Life's a beach

I've been extremely impressed with my new cricut expression!! I'm so glad that I FINALLY purchased it! It is so well worth the money. Even though I really haven't had time to play with it much, I do treasure it! I am leaving for the beach Saturday and I REALLY NEED this new cart. I am going to do another vacation album and this cart would be so much fun to play with. I can't wait to take pictures on the beach with my new camera. I am already planning the pictures I want to take.

Photography is something I could really get into because I love it so much! People keep telling me that I could make money at it but I don't want any hobby of mine turning into a job. I do it because I enjoy and love it! I plan to take a class by Karen Russell as soon as a spot becomes available. I was 583 on the waiting list when I signed up. :SHOCK: So I'm hoping in July when she has another opening I will be able to get in. She says they sell out in minutes of registration. :EKK: You can see her blog here She is really awesome! I visit her blog almost everyday!

Last night we celebrated Haley's birthday because Clint had to be out of town today. She got to pick the resturant so we went to Applebee's our family favorite! Then we came back home and had cake and opened presents! Haley got a new bathing suit, beach towel, sunglasses, flipflops (for the beach trip), a cup she can color from (HL), some yarn and stuff for her cross stitching, a CS horse kit, a storage bag for all of it to go in, a new pair of shoes, little pets shops and money for the grandparents. She really had a great birthday!!

Beach Time

I'm really excited because today was the last day of school!!!! This mean's that in one week we are going to the beach for 4 days!! WOOHOO!! I'm so excited that I can hardly wait!! I've been wanting to take a vacation to the beach forever!! The last time was on my honeymoon 14 yrs ago. I can't wait for the girls to see the beautiful white beaches and clear blue/green waters. I am almost beside myself!

Tonight we are going out to celebrate Haley's birthday. I made Haley a bday cake last night with my new Wilton pans. Those pans are AWESOME! I should have bought those YEARS ago!!!! The cake came out perfect! I used hot pink icing and glitter. I cut out felt flowers and attached them to a white stick to create a bouquet. I'll be sure to upload a picture if I can get a good shot.

It's been raining nonstop all week but that's okay. We need the rain! We'll get pool time in soon enough. I think tomorrow, since the BBQ is off at my brothers, I'll go over to the craft shack and play with my new cricut. I've been DYING too!! I'm going to use my new glitz package that I won from Noel to do Haley's birthday layouts.

The girls had honor's day this morning. They both got 3 awards! I am so proud of my girls. Lacey got ACE and Haley got honor roll. This is a huge achievement for them because it doesn't come as easy for them.

Glitz Package

My goodie package came in the mail yesterday!! Noel sent 3 glitz pattern papers, 2 sheets of glitz rubons, 1 sheet of glitz stickers and Stampin Up birthday count mini note kit! Very Nice!! Thanks so much Noel! I love it all!!

Cricut Time~!

Guess what came today?? My brand new EXPRESSION!! Now I'm FINALLY in the "club." LOL I'm no longer the poor little outside girl in school who doesn't have the cricut. :) I am so excited because it wasn't supposed to be here until the 12th! What a sweet surprise!

In the cricut newsletter that came today was a tutorial on how to cute fabric! Check it out here... Wow! This is totally awesome!

Tomorrow is our second craft show. We're just getting in the groove. Not sure if we'll stick to it yet or not. We'll see though. It's supposed to be really hot tomorrow. In the 90's. Oh Summer has begun. :)

Ever have one of those days where everything seems like it's goes wrong? Well it's been one of those days for me. I feel stressed out and don't really know why. I have tons of things I need to be doing but don't have the time to do them!! :) Today I had some really important things that I wanted to do but right as I went to do them I got drenched. Twice. It's just been one of those days.

BUT... first when I stopped by the craft shack to pick up a few things I saw a little goody basket just for me. How sweetttttt.... Cathy had put together a little happy day gift for me. Oh boy!! She had no clue how I needed that! And then when I got home and I found out that I had won another goody basket from Noel! Sweet! Check it out here! Bitter sweet.

So tonight I'm turning in early with a book. Not a great book but it holds my attention.

Scrapping Time

I love the color combo here. Red and yellow look awesome together to me. I made a little pocket for all the extra pictures because I took a ton! lol

I used transparency's on all of these layouts. It's the first time I have ever used them and I LOVE them!! They are so much fun!

This is a large snowflake that Cathy bought me at Archiver's on one of her trips to Atlanta. I used the snowflake border punch on each side.

A while back I went to Pam's and scrapped while she made necklaces. I actually got quite a bit finished on my vacation album. We had so much fun on our trip to see friends in PA. We went to Lake Erie and saw Niagara Falls. I really can't wait to finish the album. It does feel really good when you finish doesn't it? Cathy and I are doing another show Saturday. It's supposed to rain so please pray we don't get soaked! A little water would ruin our things.

Only 3 more weeks of school and we can relax, sleep late and hang out in the pool all day if want. Can you tell I'm so ready?! LOL I'm counting down the days!!

Digital Scrapbooking

Recently I've been getting the urge to try digi scrapping. But I know NOTHING about it! So today I went youtube and watched some tutorials. Seems easy enough. Now all I need is photoshop or something. Does anyone know where you can print 12x12 layouts? Or what's the best program to use?

While visiting Patti's blog today I came across a new digi site. Check it out here... She has very very cute designs! I'm sure that's the first place I'll go when I do get started.

Happy National Scrapbooking Day

WOW! I can't believe how fast time flies! 3 More weeks and we're out for summer! Can't wait. Pool time. Beach time. Park time. I love the summer.

Also. Creating keepsakes is having a give away every hour on their blog today. Check it out here.. They usually have an online crop today too. Actually most all scrapbooking forums usually have one. So if you're bored find one or two to join. They are super fun!

Then I was doing a little more searching and found fun things you can do. I know a lot of ladies got together today to scrapbook but I took today off since I've been extremely busy lately. I just needed a day with my family and to rest. Daddy and Clint are starting on a new deck for our back door. So I may have to help out with that. Can't wait! I'll post pics.

This afternoon the girls have a pool party to attend and Clint planned a surprise for me. Should be interesting because he NEVER does anything like this! More later. I guess it will be another busy day after all.

Top 10 Things to do on National Scrapbooking Day

How much do you know about National Scrapbooking Day? It was started in 1994 by the well-known album company Creative Memories. and is celebrated on the first Saturday each May. Thank you Creative Memories for giving us a day for our favorite hobby!
Here are the top ten scrapping activities for this fun day:
1. Attend a crop or scrapbooking party! Of course, this would be #1 on the list! There is nothing better, and more motivating, than to scrap with friends! If you didn't plan to attend a crop, be spontaneous and consider inviting some friends over!
2. Go shopping! No scrapper can resist buying some new goodies! If you find that you are on more of a shoestring budget, set yourself a limit, say $5.00, and buy some new papers or some new stickers.
3. Scrap by yourself! We all do this on other days of the year, but at the very least, do some scrapbooking by yourself today if you aren't getting together with others.
4. Learn a new technique! Even if you aren't signed up for your local scrapbook stores (LSS) classes, turn to the internet to learn to learn a new technique for your pages. Visit your favorite search engine, and type in what you would like to learn about.
5. Join a new email list! There are literally hundreds of scrapbooking email lists on the internet, so why not join a new one! Just visit sites such as http://groups.yahoo.com/ or http://www.topica.com/ and put the word "scrapbooking" into their search box. Even if you don't want the extra email, you can always read the messages on the web!
6. Submit your best layouts to magazines! If you find that you are home on Nat'l Scrapbooking Day, why not submit some of your best layouts to magazines?
7. Organize! Is your scrapbook area getting a little cluttered? Spend some time organizing and decluttering it! While this may not sound like a fun thing to do, it is essential to have a neat scrapping space to create your masterpieces.
8. Copy And Steal Everything (CASE)! One of the best ways to get ideas for your own layouts is to see what other scrappers have created. Spend some time reviewing your favorite scrapping magazines or visit a site such as http://www.scrapbooking.com/ to be inspired.
9. Try something different! Have you always wanted to use your rubber stamps in your layout? Maybe you would like to try the use of wire, jute, buttons, or ribbon? If you have always thought of using something non-scrapbooking related in your album, spend some time doing just that!
10. Teach! I think one of the best way to spend Nat'l Scrapbooking Day is to teach a non-scrapper your favorite hobby! Think of at least one friend or family member that doesn't scrapbook, invite them over (be sure to have them bring some photos), and let them use your supplies to create a few pages. Before you know it, you will have a new scrappin' buddy!

Field Day

These are the bracelets that Debbie made for the girls. She and her husband had a jewelry booth at the craft show beside ours. They are the sweetest couple! I'll be a regular customer from now on! Thanks Debbie!

Haley got quiet the other day and I found her outside in the chair reading her Spiderwick Chronicles book. The girls loved that movie and they both are into the books now. I'm so glad they have these at the library.

Today was a super fun! We had Field Day!! The girls got to be in 3 races each. One of the coaches kissed a donkey. I really look forward to a lot of fun with my girls! Can you believe they are almost 2 years a part? I noticed how Haley (on the left, the youngest) was almost a foot taller than everyone one in her class this year! WOW!
